Vacha's 5 Myths Rule

  1. A brand is just a company’s name and logo.
  2. Branding is only for big multinationals.
  3. People don’t care about B2B brands.
  4. We have control over our brand.
  5. Branding is too expensive.

story

A brand is not just a 'name' or 'logo'; it's the overall impression and experience you provide to your audience and customers. Your brand expresses the value you provide. It's you ❕

The brand name or logo doesn't sell directly; it identifies and signfies. A logo derives its meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolizes, not the other way around. These are the textual and graphical extensions of the internal philosoophies of a company — what it means is more important than what it looks like.

ONLY

FOR...

If you still don't think branding is for you, you're not alone. "Many small business owners I meet think that brands are something that only large companies need or can afford," says Bryony Thomas of Watertight Marketing.

Traditionally, big companies have had an edge of smaller ones. But, the new school reality is that digital media and technology have flattened the playing field. Today, individuals like PewDiePie, NigaHiga and Jenna Marbles have become popular brands surrounded by millions of followers just like (and sometimes surpassing) Samsung, Coke and Nike.

Regardless of whether you are marketing B2B or B2C, you are marketing B2P, business to people. The decision-makers for B2B products may be in a different context with different needs and values, but they are still people, and people want to make the easy, safe, and right choice. Brands help rise above the clutter and provide a clearer choice.

You would ask... Well, then who needs branding ⁉️

Superficial Control Over Brand

The basic perception that brand could easily be developed with online social media presence is a larger fallacy. The truth is that no matter what you do to control your brand, consumers still largely shape your brand and it stays dynamic with time. The natural process of brand development, therefore, can affect the sales either positively or even NEGATIVELY ‼️

The Big Pocket Game

Branding isn’t a matter of multi-million-dollar campaigns. It’s a matter of portraying the right brand experience and being mindful of how your brand is portrayed at every touch point. It’s everything from the way your employees feel about your brand, to the way your customer service treats customers, to the way that sales reps talk about your brand. Improving your brand could just be a matter of doing the same things you’re already doing a little bit better.
